Birmingham Design Festival 2025 Highlights

Some highlights from the Birmingham Design Festival. This was my fourth visit since I attended in 2018 and previously in 2023 & 2024.
This event's theme was "Play" one of the key developments in developing high quality creative design.
"The Conference"
I attended the second day or the event which was the conference part of the festival at the city's Town Hall known for hosting major events like music concerts, fashion shows and much more.
Because of my circumstances, I was not able to view the entire day's schedule
Keli Anderson was presenting her variety of two-dimensional and three-dimensional design with a preview of her new publications to be launched during the autumn. Combining the philosophy behind science, history and play. Using unique and relatable concepts using two-dimensional and three-dimensional items which also includes static images and animation
A series of ground-breaking graphics design, branding, visual art and motion graphics presented by
Liza Emebeis. This was presented within certain factors including freedom, structure, parameters, freedom, risks, & trust.
Although there is a digital age which is trying to replace the traditional news publications, the Guardian's Design editor
Chris Clarke
demonstrates how editorial design has the relevance and the power to open the reader's mind behind the story. During his presentation. Chris admitted he is a Dyslexic, as a neurodivergent I had a brief conversation on the importance of embracing neurodiversity in the design industry.
An inspiration which shows two life design stories into a combination to strengthen an influence to others on social media and beyond. This was presented by
Malika Favre & George Wu
Design is not all about sharing concepts to inspire but it also provokes a point or matter, with some matters which enable everyone to think about how to think and judge on certain matters.
Javier Jaén
presented some examples of his powerful projects to make people think beyond appearance and perceptions.
Armin Vit & Bryony Gomez
presented their examples of their developments including their world online publication "Under Consideration" also examples of their publication and projects in the communities.
There another Presentation talks I was unable to watch and sadly I had to leave the event earlier due to my other commitments
Personal Perspective
One of the reasons why this event is so special is the importance of authenticity and integrity This makes the event valuable when meeting and networking with participants and attendees. Because of this it makes the visitor experience sincere and without barriers.
Special thanks to
Daniel Alcorn & Luke Tonge
and the entire team to make the event possible.
