A summary of my involvement in two major latin dancing conventions in Birmingham area.
Since 2016. I have become one of the volunteering team with the dancing Conventions "Motion City" & "NYE Fest". Both events took place at a major hotel at Birmingham's NEC,
Events in summary
Motion City
For a number of years, I have become a participant of Motioncity with different volunteering roles.
The main task I am usually be involved with is one coming visitors and attendees into the entrance areas of the offence within the complex of Hilton Metropole hotel. This involves making sure the attendees visitors participants and performance wear the correct wristbands and to make sure anyone who hasn't got the right wristband or hasn't booked a ticket doesn't enter the event area.
Other kinds of participation I have been involved with his help setting up the tables and chairs in the main events areas before the event starts. On occasions, I've been asked to help set down and pull away items after the event has finished.
This event enables me to have a closer insight when how the team organisers and participants and performers are passing through the main events area several times in the day. this is during preparation during rehearsal and when the event takes place. It can be very challenging and during the main event time slot especially when there's a high number of attendees.
I have volunteered for Motion City five times in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022 and in 2024
NYE Fest
Between 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022 then during New Year 2022 into 2023, I been aa participant of Latinmotion's NYE Fest with different volunteering roles.

Developing Organisers
The volunteering role can be very damanding with a lot of factors to prepare and be resourced.
So I have develop a series of organiser materials when enable me to able to be orgainsed, reliable and efficent. This was created in printed and digital form using a tablet device.
Printed Organiser Pack
For many years, I have developed a printed volunteering pack for each event. This consists creating of a family of double-sided fold out volunteering booklets with each materials fonds out from pocket size (A6 paper measurement) into a large size A3 document. The kind of fold out booklets developed includles, Daily event guides, General volunteering information and procedures with information, references and guidelines. Also the printed materials was used for quick note taking on any updates and changes to the event and any requirements.
Digital Organiser Organiser
Since December 2023 onwards I used creativity, digital developments and imagination to develop an innvoative approach by creating an interactive touch-point digital organiser to replace the printed materials previously used. This was used on a tablet device is only used specififcally for display purposes. It enable for me to be verstile, efficant and be more apdaptable.
