Involvement of the Timms Review consultation for the government

I have submitted my insight and analysis as part of a government consultation.
This is related to the Department for Work and Pensions "call for evidence" consultation for the review of Personal Independence Payment (PIP), known as the "Timms Review".

Following the launch of the consultation, the Minister for Social Security and Disability, Sir Stephen Timms MP, delivered a keynote speech about the consultation at the annual disability expo, Naidex.
Please visit the article for details of the event.
For my submission to the consultation, I produced a document containing my responses to the questions provided.
Some of the questions included:
How the benefit is used;
How it helps maintain a person’s independent life;
How the benefit continues to meet people’s needs
How the system could be improved or changed.

Two versions of the document were developed. The first was a specialist version containing detailed analysis and my personal perspective, which was submitted to the Department for Work and Pensions. The second version was a summary made available to the general public. However, some answers included in the specialist version were not included in the public version for confidentiality reasons.
You can view the summary document to download and read by visiting the publications page
