I was trailing a presented video reel for social media.
This follows attending a short workshop back in March on developing social media reeks "Find a Voice" at the Specialist education facility the Steam House by Birmingham City University.
SUMMARY
The course was hosted by Musician and music studio educator Nicole Justice who provided a talk to complete a video reel using a popular video app for social media.
PERSONAL PERESPECTIVE
As the direction of social media is going it is evident that it is essential to use video to the social audience to capture and generate interest.
Because of facing negative personal prejudice on how I am judged and perceived I have avoided using any type of visibility on video cameras online to prevent harmful stigma.
FEATURES
The trail video reels appeared on my Instagram profile and my primary Facebook profile featured me presenting to the camera with examples of images I have captured on my mobile camera and video footage. It includes highlights of attending events & workshops within 5 days including the Dyslexia Show, Photography Show, and Naidex at the NEC. Also, the video reel including I attended a workshop with Birmingham City University and video footage of the Steam House to indicate attending the "Find your voice" course.
OUTCOME
Since the video reel appears on Instagram the video was played over 100 times within a five-day period.
My experiences were a learning curve. Despite the video trail was not 100% to my standards, it is a starting point and there are plans to make adjustments and changes to develop future video reels to maintain interest. Also, I realised without using videos the audience on social media and my websites will not maintain any interest. My plan is also to go beyond video reels but use horizontal video format to be shown on YouTube and LinkedIn.
The plan also expands beyond my developments but also my objective insight and extracts of projects and information appear on my awareness initiative Plus Value Awareness.
You can watch the trail video reel via my Instagram social media profile.
Further video reels to be developed soon
