Railways Awareness Meeting

Keith Mckenzie • May 30, 2024

A meeting was arranged with an accessibility Manager for the local railway network.

The meeting was made with James Foxtall, one of the accessibility managers at West Midlands Trains. The organisation provides local and commuter services including West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway.

Before the meeting, I shared some examples of my personal experiences which had become challenging in recent years since the worldwide pandemic.

James wanted to meet with me to understand my background and my circumstances and to find ways and what forward steps could be made to improve awareness of Neurodiversity on the local railway and beyond.

After our meeting, I have developed and shared an information document which contains different examples of my experience on the railway along with my suggestions, not just only within the train operator but to the railway network as a whole along with public transport my this region

James has suggested some possibilities which could occur, including lived experences and many more.
