Travel safety educational video involvement

Keith Mckenzie • April 30, 2025

I was invited to take part and be featured in a video education awareness project with Transport for West Midlands. It is called the neurodivergent Project which enables detailed insight into lived experience and guidance within the staff within Transport for West Midlands, including travel safety-related teams.

EXAMPLES OF WHAT I HAVE SHARED
I was asked to provide some top tips that will help other neurodivergent people. Also provides some steps that can help a neurodivergent person this is within locations such as bus stations on buses, trains, metro customer service staff or elsewhere

Also, I provided some suggestions, including when a neurodivergent is having a bad day, being prepared for any scenarios, asking for help, acting facilities and how to modify depending on the environment. This includes understanding life challenges when a neurodivergent is facing discrimination or intolerance and impatient attitudes at busier times.

Because this video includes some of my personal experiences, this will not be available for the general public to maintain my confidentiality.

This was arranged by Michael Sandland travel safety officer manager and Cerys O'Shea travel safety intern both based at the West Midlands Safety Travel Partnership at Transport for West Midlands,
