Mental Health Awareness Project:
Dont Underestimate
for Plus Value Awareness
Development summary
Visual identity, illustration, developing project web pages (including index and focused pages), writing content
An information awareness project was developed to address how mental health affects specific hidden related difficulties
It was created in 2018 on the Plus Value Awareness website to coincide with World Mental Health Day. The information presented different factors on mental health which is different from the rest of society.
The information project was divided into different elements including attitudes, masking, compromised dangers, factors, respecting their sense of value, time out, recovery and general tips.
It was aimed to widen our approach when someone experiences mental health. This means there is no single way of resolving and recovering from mental health.
"We Cannot Simplify Mental Health"
As part of this project, a special pop-up webpage was created to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week in May 2024.
It was developed as a response to comments made by certain public figures and political ministers in March 2024 who have made inaccurate generalisations and potentially caused the risk of causing harmful stigma.
My approach
The approach for this awareness project is to enable to exploration of the different aspects rather than lecturing.
The Current presentation design
Updated & redesigned in May 2024 the concept is made of different factors:
Generic visual design
This incorporates the large light bulb surrounded by overlapping circles in specific colour palettes along with triangle arrows and variations of different picograms linked with the project's elements. The visual background has darker tints of overlapping patterns. This uses the colour palettes linked with calm (blue & green) and sunlight (yellow).
Specific visual design
This presented similar to the generic visual design using a focused colour palette and particular pictorial icons. This is used for the focused elements of the project.
Abbreviated identity
This is presented as a quick identifier to mental health with appearing too formal or lecturing on a serious matter. This incorporates the abbreviation of mental health in a circle divided into contrasting monochrome colours. The primary use is the used alongside the word marks on the project's full title. Also, this is used as a divider or a navigation.
Marketing examples
Some examples of poster designs was created on how this project could encourge to challenge conventional attitudes in local communities
