I attended two different events in central Birmingham and Wolverhampton.

TEDx Wolverhampton

The event took place at the Arena Theatre.

TEDx events are part of a worldwide programme of influential talks and seminars, where passionate individuals share important ideas and perspectives to inform, inspire and open the audience’s minds to particular topics, issues and circumstances.

The event included speakers such as Nicola Noel, Luis Evitt, Mark Saxby and many more.

My purpose for attending was to show my support for a friend, Tamar Dixon, CEO of Unique Dance Collective (Community Interest Company).

Tamar shared her background and explained how dancing has played an important role in her life.

Birmingham Disability Festival

The third annual Birmingham Disability Festival took place at Matthew Boulton College.

The festival combines guest talks, live performances, exhibitions and much more, providing an opportunity to celebrate and raise awareness of disability and the experiences of disabled people.

This including special guest sharing their experience and development.
Including Mark Fostbrook, West Midlands Disability Inclusion Manager at West Midlands Combined Authority, Andrew Bull Community Development Offer at BMet and Daisy Garrett from Anjali Dance Company.
